Many complex makeup designs for the eyes require that a person employ more than one color and this means that a true Smokey Eyes look will be a light cream base and at least one or two other darker colors that are blended together to create an even look. It can take a bit to get used to blending more than one shade of eye shadow together so it's a good idea to practice getting it right before going to the trouble of fully prepping the eyes with things like eyelid primer and eye liner.
