One of the biggest blows to any kid's self esteem can be the disapproval of something in which that child has participated. But sometimes it's not actual disapproval but a mistaken identity. When a child is taking part in kids art lessons he might return home with a nice picture of an animal that looks like a cat but the child has meant it to be a squirrel. A parent's mistaken identity of the drawing may unintentionally cause a child to believe he's not a good artist. A little bit of perspective when analyzing a child's art project can go a long way in maintaining his self esteem.
