Using Voice Over for Comedy

Description:

One of the most interesting examples of a voice over being used well in a movie is when the director decides to have the main character do voiceovers when that particular character isn't actually present at a particular set of circumstances. It's even more interesting if the circumstances are completely unknown to the character as they are portrayed in the story and yet somehow that character is able to narrate various scenes of the film. As a storytelling device it tends to work very well because it uses a voice the audience is familiar with and makes people wonder how much that character knows.
